Aww bum! I can't add it to the plugin (well I can but it would look !) It has a white box around it, so you would see that too. With the other two that I've used, the box is hidden.

I've now added a plugin that allows us to post pictures directly into a post. The images are automatically hosted offsite. Just choose 'Add image to post' in order to upload images. Just to add that it may not work properly when using ios or android. If there are any problems using this, then you may need to use the original instructions posted for hosting offsite pics.

Meant to say thanks for that, Pink! didn't get round to testing it, as I must be on the PC for that, and was using up my PC-time with helping out in another forum, but found this again very kind of you!! and actually meant to post about the News ticker on this forum: 1, it was about time it changed! 2, world cup or napping? even I as non- -y heard about Germany being out, so: no question, huh!? rather, it's time to work on your town?! there was a 3rd, but I forgot... bbl!

as Pink mentioned Android, I tested it now from the tablet (PC has Windows 10). It shows a link at first. Curious how it looks after posting. ETA: it works beautifully, even with labelling the picture and whatnot! (it wants me to sign in "there somewhere"?) but i noticed i have to edit the pic first, before leaving it here, esp. when visible to the world.

Edit: The plugin that I added won't work as well for us as I'd hoped.
When posting, everyone should get the cloudinary error. If you want to register with cloudinary (it's a free image hosting site) in order to use it then, you will need to add some links from cloudinary into your forum profile. If you don't wish to use cloudinary, just dismass the error prompt, and you shouldn't see it again.
Any problems, just shout.

sorry, didn't get a notification about new posts this time..??
Is the new plugin something with Cloudinary? I have a Cloudinary File Upload Plugin Error window hopping at the top of the forum page, which wants me to go somewhere and do something (adding account info in Settings?) with my account - huh? Even to dismiss the dialog "forever", I should click there...
Anyone know that one? Does it belong to the forum or is it an ad or worse?
ETA: I found it in my Profile - Settings, when checking for the Notifications (which offer strange choices, too - why can't I check the first two, for example??). It wants me to create an account *there*?? As usual, I don't understand anything of this stuff... What do we have to do, and why/what for precisely? do we need that to post pictures..?

Bugger, bugger, bugger. need to have a rethink. This plugin will need everyone to register, thought it would only need to be me as admin.
There's a storage limit for picutes, so it's best to use an external host. Most now are changing their TOS and charging, so i'm trying to freebies.

For now, when we post a link to an image, it will post the image automatically in our posts. These images can be viewed when not logged in. To upload an image that isn't hosted elsewhere we will need to use the add attachment button. These images can't be viewed unless logged into the forum

And I don't have to do anything with that Cloudinary jumper?

Ive found another host we can use called ImgPileWe don't need an account. After uploading the image/s, there's a heading on the left 'Embed codes'. From here a whole list of codes can be chosen. Normally for forums we would use 'BBcode' but I was also able to use 'Image Link'. Hovering over the links brings up a 'copy' button, click on that, then just paste the code into your forum post.
