- Aim to complete 15 tasks but we will accept 10 tasks minimum @125 points
- Anyone not completing 10 tasks one hour before end of race, will be restricted
- Tasks under 125 points to be dumped wherever possible
- As we now have more people that take trains, 1 can be left on the board, but planes are dumped automatically, unless it would leave too many empty cells on the board. Both planes and trains should be reserved.
[/b][/a] [/ul] - Zoo tasks - only 1 zoo task should be left on the board at any one time
- Mystery tasks - as we have a core group of mystery task takers, these would only be dumped in exceptional circumstances, usually if there are already 2 on the board.
- Seasonal tasks - dealt with on an ad hoc basis dependent on ease of task/popularity - but following our normal reservation criteria - see below
- Any task which has been on the board for at least 2 hours to be dumped including 135 point tasks
- No more than 6 tasks should be dumped at any one time
- Anyone unable to race or complete minimum requirements please 'Opt Out'
Reserving Tasks - 2 hour limit
For the majority of the time, all tasks on the board are ready and available to choose.
135 pt tasks that cannot be reserved during the week are: House of Luck, helicopter, mining and feeding. These are popular and open to everyone to take.
All tasks under 135 can be reserved.
Reservations aren't usually made as frequently when we have the mystery tasks in place, and although we can reserve the task we would like to take next, we need to be mindful that this is not something we can constantly do.
Now that we can flag the tasks we want, this should make it easier to identify the tasks that no one wants, so that they can be dumped sooner. This system would also be good for anyone wanting a task of less than 125 points to ensure that it doesn't get dumped.
Reserving Seasonal Tasks Seasonal tasks follow our normal reservations rules, otherwise they are first come, first served. Combo tasks that have at least one item that is factory/long crops or boats can be reserved.
Discarding reserved tasks
PLEASE DO NOT RESERVE A TASK THAT YOU DO NOT ACTUALLY WANT
Anyone that reserved a task but has now changed their mind and found something else, should dump this task rather than leaving it on the board. If it's a popular task, it's unlikely that it would be discarded in the first instance, if it's a quick and easy under 135 point task, then someone would've already taken it if they wanted to, therefore it doesn't make sense to leave unpopular tasks on the board.
Just for the weekend - all tasks can be reserved
Trains - Some love trains, some hate them (see THIS THEAD and add your vote too ) For those that want them, we have started leaving one train on the board. Currently, Mac, DD, Pinky & Winter will take trains willingly.
Zoo - new style zoo - as above, some love? 'em, some hate them (see THIS THEAD and add your vote too )
Also by the end of the week, there should be more choice of tasks available for those still racing, plus the ability to dump more ferociously. Dumpers do need to ensure that the taskboard doesn't get cluttered towards the end of the race.
There are also times when we can stop racing. These typically include: having a comfortable lead; not being able to increase, or lose our current position in the race; not being able to reach the podium.
See here for the COMPLETE LIST OF RESERVED TASKS - updated on an ongoing basis
UTC - Timezones see HERE
Delayed start time has been removed for the time being.
Daylight Saving Ends
27th October 2019 - Europe
3rd November 2019 - USAIf anyone needs to build up their stocks of clovers, picks etc, it's better to start requesting help today, rather than leaving it until a task pops up.
In summary, if it's an easy quick and popular 135 task, it can't be reserved. ABOVE ALL - IF YOU DO NOT THINK YOU CAN MANAGE 10 TASKS, PLEASE BE FAIR TO EVERYONE AND OPT OUT. Thanks

Why we don't want to be too good.
The best two scores each season, are used to calculate our position on the Global Leaderboard. Although we don't particularly care about this position, it will, and does, affect our competition over time. If we have a really good race, then we will climb the leaderboard and face much stronger teams in the coming weeks, therefore, we don't want to be too good, and certainly don't want to race with a perfect score. What we don't want, is to find ourselves languishing in the middle-bottom of the field, surrounded by strong teams all doing 133+. If we try to compete by matching their scores, our races will simply get tougher and tougher each week. There have been many posts on the Township forum, from teams who've been doing really well in the Golden League, regularly reaching the podium all year (just like us, many of them much stronger than us) yet they've found themselves demoted to silver, because they just couldn't do any better than they already were. Currently we are placed 2607 on the Global Leaderboard. Normally we are approx 10k-15 so we have made a huge leap up the leaderboard, just in one season, which we really don't want. Racing numbersNormally there are 12-15 members racing. This is usually a good number, as it means there is less chance of us racing alongside a perfect team. The smaller the team, the harder it is for us to compete for the podium, because we are more likely to compete with teams who aim for perfect scores. So in these instances, we may well have to face the fact that we might not make it to the podium that particular week, but, it should mean the subsequent race is easier for us to compete in. - This used to be the case, but since the removal of the favoured start times, we have found it much, much harder to reach the podium. So, currently, we are accepting new members and looking to increase the size of our racing team. Staying in the Golden LeagueIf we want to remain in the golden league we have to be careful who we come up against each week, and that means not racing too well. Racing good enough to reach the podium when we can, but not so good that we get completely squashed by the competition in subsequent races. This is why I haven't increased our minimum tasks points, or total tasks/points per member. We all share the same taskboard, so we need to be mindful of the rest of our team. Who the players are that take high and low tasks; who are online more often and therefore have more choice in the tasks they take. We need to ensure that those who aren't around often, get their fair share of good tasks and that when they do finally manage to log in, they are not greeted with an empty board. If they can't get access to easy and decent tasks, they can't complete the minimum requirements easily/if at all. We also need to be aware of who takes the less popular tasks, such as the new style zoo. If only 3 people do them, then we don't want the board stuck with a 135 zoo task, if those 3 people are not around, or doing long tasks already. We get a maximum of 4-5 135s on the board at any one time, so we need to keep these turning over. Being aware of who does certain tasks, helps us manage the board for everyone's benefit.
